Founded in 1987, Compliance Engineering Service Inc.(dba: Compliance Certification Services (CCS)) is an independent test laboratory headquartered in Fremont, California.  Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL), a world leader in product safety testing and certification services, acquired Compliance Certification Services (CCS) of Fremont, Calif. The acquisition results in a newly formed division at UL and bolsters its EMC testing capabilities and global market access.

CCS, now to be known as UL CCS, an independent electromagnetic compliance (EMC) and wireless testing organization, primarily serves U.S., Taiwanese, Chinese, Korean and Japanese manufacturers. The acquisition provides UL with the capabilities to test and certify to a wider range of standards, including the FCC in the US; the CE in Europe; the MIC in Japan; the IC in Canada; the IDA in Singapore; the NCC/BSMI in Taiwan, and; the KCC in Korea.

The main services offered by UL CCS include, but not limited to, EMC, Wireless, Product Safety, DFS, Wireless HD Conformance, OTA Performance, 2D/3D Antenna Pattern and SAR.  UL CCS is actively working with the world's foremost chipset manufacturers in developing regulatory compliance test plans to address international regulatory approvals of the latest scientific and technology products.  UL CCS Testing Division is accredited by NVLAP (Lab # 200065-0 to a wide variety of international RF, EMC, SAR, and safety standards.  Our Certification Division is accredited by ANSI to ISO Guide 65 and designated by NIST and recognized by Regulatory Authorities as a Certification Body:  TCB in US, FCB in Canada and CAB in Singapore under Phase II of the APEC Tel MRA and also as a CAB (Notified Body) under both the EMC and R&TTE Directives for the EU.
